چکیده
Background Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease of unknown etiology that can affect various organ systems, particularly the kidneys [1] . Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Interleukin-17 (IL-17), and tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) are closely correlated with risk SLE play a significant role in pathogenesis disease. However, causal relationship between these cytokines has not been elucidated. Objectives Our study aimed to assess association IL-17, IL-6, TNF-α, by Mendelian randomization (MR) study. Methods Data on both were obtained from aggregate-level data publicly available Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS), Finnish database comprising mainly participants European ancestry [2-3] Bi-directional two-sample MR was performed using inverse variance weighting (IVW), MR-Egger regression weighted median methods. In addition, leave-one-out analyses potential pleiotropy cytokines. Finally, direct relationships IL-6 TNF-α estimated multivariate analysis (MVMR). Results The IVW results MVMR showed IL-17 had developing (95% CI = 0.168~ 1.207, P 0.009). No associations observed (95%CI=-0.610-0.188, P=0.302) as well (95%CI=-0.120~0.178, P=0.707). Evidence bidirectional did support reverse causality. Specifically, follows, (OR=1.017, P=0.081), (OR=1.015, P=0.122), (OR=1.027, P=0.063). Cochran’s Q test there no heterogeneity SNPs IVs. Furthermore, pooled effects corroborated results, suggesting across estimates included SNPs. Conclusion conclusion, present supports hypothesis genetically predicted higher levels circulating directly associated increased SLE. Accordingly, drugs targeting may be highly effective promising therapeutic options. References [1]GC Tsokos. erythematosus. N Engl J Med 2011;365(22):2110-21. Rare Association between Kikuchi's Disease and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis or Kikuchi's disease is a rare, benign condition of unknown etiology, which is usually characterized by cervical lymphadenopathy and fever. This disease is rarely associated with systemic lupus erythematosus. Here we describe, for the first time in Iran, a patient who developed systemic lupus erythematosus about 3 years after the initial diagnosis of Kikuch...
متن کاملNeurobrucellosis in systemic lupus erythematosus
Background: Brucellosis is a zoonotic infection which is endemic in many countries. It is a multisystem disease which may present with a broad spectrum of clinical manifestations and complications. Neurobrucellosis is an uncommon complication of brucellosis. Case presentation: A 25-year-old woman with a history of lupus for 5 months referred to the emergency ward of Shahid Beheshti Hosp...
متن کاملCirculating interleukin-16 in systemic lupus erythematosus.
OBJECTIVE To investigate the relationship between interleukin (IL)-16 and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). METHODS Serum levels of IL-16 were examined in SLE patients using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RESULTS The serum level of IL-16 in the patients was much higher than that in healthy volunteers (P < 0.001). An increase in IL-16 was observed in proportion to the activi...
متن کاملCirculating DNA in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Immunoprecipitable double-stranded (dsDNA) was previously shown to persist in the circulation ofa clinically recognizable subgroup of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Plasma from 10 such patients was subjected to a DNA isolation procedure that used a combination ofproteolysis, phenol extraction, and hydroxylapatite adsorption and elution in the presence of urea. The isolated ds...
متن کاملAssociation between systemic lupus erythematosus and Helicobacter pylori.
OBJECTIVE Helicobacter pylori is a gram negative spiral bacterium that is clearly associated with a variety of gastrointestinal pathologies. A number of non-gastrointestinal diseases have also been associated with H. pylori. We investigated the prevalence of H. pylori seropositivity as part of a larger serologic survey in a group of 466 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and 466 c...
